As much as I'd love to see a Welsh rugby legend win the prize tonight, it's tough to look past @benstokes38 and his amazing achievements this year.

Voted for @benstokes38 for #SPOTY19 #spoty because he had a truly phenomenal year, won the world cup (that catch, that innings in the final), that innings with Jack Leach against the Aussies in the Ashes. His year across all formats of cricket has been outstanding.
I don't even like cricket I just can never get into it. However back in the summer I have never felt so enthralled in a sporting event. It was one of those days I will never forget. Along with the epic performance in the ashes. Ben Stokes HAS to win #SPOTY.

Great list of nominees this year but the winner of the trophy has to be Ben Stokes. To play a key role in two of England's greatest moments of the decade is some achievement.
