3 black men on the list who were presented for the public vote right at the end giving them less time for the public to vote for them. BBC bias at its best. Not taking anything away from the other finalists, just disgruntled with the unfair voting process. Ironic #icons

As much as its a subjective thing, Ive really enjoyed the #icons series, learning more or about in some cases, of people whove impacted the world. If I was a teacher Id be setting work around the 28 people just for starters! Glad Turing won. @ChrisGPackham great, just great

Really lovely words from @ChrisGPackham on #Icons tonight. Disappointed with the lack of women but out of the list, a deserving accolade to a man who cant be praised enough. #alanturing #bbc

Alan Turings story is one of the rare times I'm brought to tears. An incredible human overcome the impossible to save millions Failed by the UK government and branded a criminal for his sexuality eventually lead to his suicide. Fabulous start for #LGBTHistoryMonth #Icons

I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole BBC #Icons Programme and to see Alan Turing crowned at the Greatest Perosn of the 20th Century is amazing. Lets hope history teaches us to celebrate difference :)

#Icons I think, that sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of, who do the things no one...can imagine....

The usual #BBC misfire when it comes to history and culture. A lot of #AccidentalPartridge about it, particularly the hosting choices #Icons

If Chris Packham ever decides to become a politician he has my vote. What a speech. #chrisgpackham #icons #alanturing

A truly inspirational BBC2 programme tonight with compelling arguments for each of the icons for 'the great person of the 20th Century'. All finalist would be well deserved winners but well done Alan Turing #Icons
